At Inline, we recognize that our industry is built on teamwork and our success is strengthened by the diverse perspectives and leadership across our organization. Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and the start of Women in Construction Week by proudly recognizing the important contributions of the women on our teams — both on-site and in the office — whose expertise and insight help drive better outcomes for our clients, team members, and communities.
While construction has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, it continues to evolve. Across surveying, engineering, materials testing, operations management, and administration, women are shaping projects, strengthening teams, and helping build the communities we serve.
To recognize these contributions, we’re highlighting three team members as they share their experiences working in the industry and building meaningful careers at Inline.
Georgia Dunn, Junior Geotechnical EIT
What’s one piece of advice you would give to women starting their careers?
“You belong. Too often, we feel the need to over-prove ourselves instead of trusting our abilities. Believe in yourself, and remember that if anyone makes you feel otherwise, that reflects on them—not you.”
Can you share a moment or achievement in your career that made you proud?
“Traveling to Bolivia several times with Engineers in Action to help build footbridges. Working directly with communities and seeing how something we built could change daily life was incredibly grounding and reminded me why I love engineering.”
How has working at Inline supported your growth and success?
“After working in the management stream for 6 years, Inline supported my transition over to the Engineering stream, where I am currently expanding my knowledge and experience in pursuit of my Professional Engineering designation. This opportunity has allowed me to challenge myself, develop my technical skill set, and work toward achieving my goal of becoming a P.Eng., which would not have been possible without Inline’s support.”
Georgia’s experience demonstrates how engineering can extend beyond job sites, creating tangible impact for communities around the world. We’re proud to have Georgia on our team and value the impact she continues to make across our projects and in her evolving role.
Saranee Janwong, Lab Technician
What’s one piece of advice for women starting their careers?
“You don’t need to have everything figured out right away. Work hard, stay consistent, and trust that your skills will speak for you.”
What inspired you to pursue a career in materials testing?
“I studied Civil Engineering and became interested in materials testing because it’s the foundation of safe construction. I enjoy focused, independent work, and the lab environment suits my personality.”
How has working at Inline supported your growth?
“Everyone is willing to help and ensure I have the tools and guidance I need in the lab.”
Saranee’s work underscores the essential role of quality control in building safe, reliable infrastructure, and her contributions support the integrity and performance of the projects we deliver. We’re proud to have Saranee on our team and appreciate the discipline, technical skill, and consistency she brings to her role.
Thuy Nguyen, Office Manager
What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
“To me, International Women’s Day is about celebrating the fact that we can—and do—do it all. It’s a day to recognize the progress women are making in breaking barriers and expanding opportunities, while continuing to deliver strong results and keep projects moving forward. It’s a reminder that being ‘one of the girls’ in this industry is a serious power move.”
Can you share a moment or achievement in your career that made you proud?
“I’m not usually one to brag, but being named Inliner of the Year was a massive highlight for me. Hearing my name announced was one of those ‘Oh my god’ moments where all the long hours and hard work felt truly seen. It is incredibly rewarding to work in a place where your contributions are recognized and celebrated by your peers.”
How has working at Inline supported your growth and success?
“Growth happens best when your environment matches your values. At Inline, I’ve never felt micromanaged; instead, I’ve felt empowered. The company provides the training and tools necessary to navigate even the most difficult professional situations. Knowing that I have the full support of my team and a clear path for advancement has allowed me to focus on doing my best work every day.”
Thuy’s experience highlights the impact of an empowering workplace grounded in trust, recognition, and opportunity. She consistently demonstrates how strong coordination and team support drive project success. We’re proud to have Thuy on our team and are grateful for the integrity, hard work, and positive influence she brings to our organization.
Building Opportunities Together
While the industry has come a long way, we recognize that the journey to inclusion is far from over. At Inline we remain committed to fostering a workplace where every professional has the opportunity to grow, lead, and succeed. Amplifying the achievements of women in construction is not just about recognition, it’s about reinforcing that there is space, support, and opportunity in this industry.
To the women on our teams at every level, thank you for the expertise, leadership, and dedication you bring each day. Your impact strengthens everything we are building.
We’re honoured to celebrate Women in Construction Week and International Women’s Day with you.
