At Inline, our Core Values aren’t just words on paper—they’re the foundation of who we are, how we operate, and where we’re going. They guide our decisions, shape our culture, and push us to keep growing—together.

Each year, we take a moment to recognize the people who truly live those values day in and day out. Through peer nominations, we celebrate the individuals who go above and beyond, quietly leading by example and making Inline a stronger, more values-driven company.

Let us introduce you to the recipients of this Inline’s 2024 Core Value Awards—because their impact deserves to be celebrated not just once, but year-round.

Adaptable – Jenna Gruninger

Born and raised in Beaumont, AB, Jenna now calls Fort Saskatchewan home. She began her Inline journey as a student in 2022 and transitioned into a full-time role following her co-op term.

Jenna’s ability to adapt to different environments, while staying both professional and personable, speaks volumes. She credits her motivation to the people around her: “The people I work with—both within Inline and on-site—motivate me to be my best. They inspire me to improve, adapt, and create meaningful relationships with our clients.”

When it comes to leadership, Jenna keeps it close to home: “A leader I admire is Justen Dmytriw (CAD Manager). He’s shown me what a phenomenal leader looks like—someone who builds team culture, supports growth, and encourages us to bring our best every day.”

Humble – Alvin Vallejos

Alvin joined our Calgary office in September 2023 and originally comes from the Philippines. He brings with him a quiet strength and a deep sense of gratitude. His humility, openness to growth, and appreciation for his team make him a natural fit for this award.

“I’m motivated by the opportunity to learn and grow in my career every day, and my biggest motivation is my family. Being an immigrant in Canada is challenging, but having them beside me makes everything easier.”

Alvin also extends his admiration to the entire Calgary team: “The staff leaders—from managers to senior techs—have mentored and supported me in showcasing my abilities, and I’m incredibly thankful for that.”

Professional – Maciej Chowaniec

Originally from Tarnow, Poland, Maciej has been with Inline for two years and has quickly become a key part of our Special Projects and 3D Scanning team. His professionalism shines through in both his work and his mindset.

“What drives me most is building trust with clients and putting Inline Group’s 3D services on the map. It’s more than just data—it’s about creating relationships.”

He finds daily inspiration in The Mindset Mentor podcast by Rob Dial: “His energy and focus on personal growth really hit home for me.”

Personable – Stephen Kendell

Originally from Bay d’Espoir, NL, Stephen has over 19 years of experience in the survey field and has been part of Inline for almost two years now. Known for his warm personality and collaborative spirit, Stephen brings heart and humility to every project.

“What inspires me to live by Inline’s values is the belief that they foster both personal and collective growth. Being personable helps me connect, and professionalism ensures I do my work with integrity.”

He admires leaders like Keith Van Skiver (Project Supervisor) who “stay calm under pressure and give others time to grow—creating an environment where the whole team can thrive.”

Productive & Hardworking – Stephen Reid

Stephen hails from Norris Point, NL, and now lives in Grande Prairie, AB. With two years at Inline under his belt, he brings relentless work ethic and drive to everything he does.

“I try to embody all the Inline values to the best of my ability. The team leads by example, and I’m proud to be part of this group. These values guide not just my work, but my life too.”

Stephen admires leaders like Richard Branson: “He’s a serial entrepreneur who has turned challenges into life lessons while continuing to give back to the community.”

Inliner Of The Year – Ryan MacKenzie

Born and raised in Calgary, Ryan has been part of the JASA—an Inline Group Company—family for an incredible 17 years. His steady leadership and unwavering commitment to our values make him the clear choice for this year’s Inliner of the Year award.

“The industry we work in is fast-paced and demanding. Being productive and hardworking is a must, however remaining approachable and personable in the face of deadlines and workload is how we win together. I believe this is something Inline is intentional about, and it’s refreshing.”

When asked about leadership, Ryan reflects on someone who’s always inspired him—his father: “His actions were guided by honesty and integrity, paired with a strong work ethic. His motto was simple, ‘Walk tall, talk straight, and look them in the eye.’ This approach to dealing with situations and people still resonates with me today.”
