Project Details
The Milner 2 Power Plant, located at the HR Milner Generating Station near Grande Cache, Alberta, is a 204 MW natural gas-fired turbine generator and stands as the largest simple cycle facility of its kind in the province. Commissioned in Q2 2020, the plant represents a key development in Alberta’s energy landscape, combining advanced engineering with the natural beauty of its surroundings. As a critical infrastructure project, it contributes significantly to regional power generation capacity and reliability.
Inline supported PCL with a full suite of surveying solutions throughout the project. This included control setup and monitoring, construction layout, topographic and as-built surveys, quality control review for piling schedules, and AutoCAD drafting and design. After the main construction was complete, we also provided 3D laser scanning to aid in retrofitting new components into existing structures. On the materials testing side, we completed compaction testing, as well as tested concrete and soils in our Edmonton lab.
