Project Details

The CN Jansen Rail Spur is a 47 km rail line linking the Joint Access Spur (JAS) near the Village of Jansen to the CN Watrous Subdivision east of the Town of Nokomis. Developed to support the BHP Jansen Potash Project, the spur line provides critical rail access to move potash efficiently to international markets via Canada’s west coast ports. Beyond its logistical importance, the project delivers long-term benefits to Saskatchewan communities through employment opportunities and regional economic growth, while strengthening Canada’s global export capacity.

Inline partnered with EllisDon to provide a comprehensive package of survey, materials testing, and UAV services. Our multidisciplinary team ensured precise layout, continuous monitoring, and accurate quality control across all phases of the project. Survey efforts included control establishment, monitoring, and topographical surveys, as well as detailed layouts and as-builts supporting alignment, grading, and construction accuracy. Materials testing was supported through the deployment of a mobile laboratory for efficient, on-site results, along with compaction and soil testing to verify foundation and structural stability. UAV operations contributed aerial mapping and progress tracking, providing real-time data visualization and reporting support. Inline also delivered AutoCAD services and volume and quantity tracking, assisting EllisDon in managing resources effectively and maintaining project efficiency throughout construction.
