Project Details
Inline is proud to support Luxton on the Marine Infrastructure Project for the Hartley Bay Search and Rescue Station. Located 85 km southwest of Kitimat, BC, this critical initiative falls under the LNG Canada agreement in collaboration with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG). The project involved establishing a new search and rescue station in the remote Hartley Bay area, which will house a crew of 10. Due to its secluded location, site access was achieved via water taxi. The team worked in close coordination with the local Indigenous community, whose support and hospitality were vital to the project’s success.
Inline provided comprehensive surveying services, including pile surveys, the installation of 55 concrete pre-cast anchors and piles, and the delivery of as-built documentation for float locations. A notable technical achievement was the attachment of a prism to a 600-ton crane to ensure precise ocean-based pile positioning. The project presented unique challenges, including the setup of an accurate control network in a remote environment, which the survey team successfully navigated. Throughout the process, team members experienced memorable moments, from wildlife encounters to sharing meals of local fresh fish, all while contributing to a vital piece of marine infrastructure.
