Inline Group was hired by one of the construction partners, PCL Construction, to perform both materials testing and surveying on the project. Our established partnership and relationship with the Enoch Cree Nation played a large part in obtaining this contract. Our field crews were responsible for the initial original ground topographical survey, control establishment and project boundary layout. Throughout construction, we are providing survey support for all layout and as-builts, as well as continuously doing a variety of testing on the soil and concrete used on site.

Project Details

Cascade Power Project is a 900 megawatt (MW) combined cycle power generation facility being constructed in Yellowhead County, approximately 12 kilometres southwest of Edson, Alberta. The facility will utilize modern, highly efficient industrial turbines, fueled by natural gas, and will have the capacity to supply over 8% of the province’s average electricity demand. The $1.5B power plant is being developed in two 450‑megawatt phases, with each phase requiring the installation of one gas turbine and one steam turbine.
