Project Details
The Cascade Power Project is a 900-megawatt combined cycle power generation facility under construction in Yellowhead County, Alberta—located roughly 12 km southwest of Edson. Designed to enhance Alberta’s energy efficiency, the facility will use state-of-the-art natural gas-fired industrial turbines to deliver over 8% of the province’s average electricity needs. Developed in two 450-megawatt phases, the $1.5 billion project involves the installation of one gas turbine and one steam turbine per phase, making it one of the most significant power infrastructure projects in the region.
Inline was contracted by construction partner PCL Construction to deliver both materials testing and surveying services for the Cascade Power Project. Leveraging our strong relationship with the Enoch Cree Nation was instrumental in securing our role. Our field teams carried out the original ground topographic survey, control point establishment, and the project boundary layout. During construction, Inline continued to provide comprehensive survey support, including layout and as-built services, along with ongoing soil and concrete testing to ensure the highest standards of material integrity on site.
