Project Details
The Cedar Valley Lodge (CVL) was developed to accommodate the workforce constructing the LNG Canada project in Kitimat, British Columbia. Purpose-built to house up to 4,500 workers, the lodge covers more than 1.2 million square feet—approximately the size of 21 football fields. Equipped with dining halls, fitness centres, and recreational spaces, CVL was designed to provide a high standard of living, comfort, and community during one of Canada’s largest energy infrastructure projects.
Inline played a critical role in the successful delivery of CVL, dedicating more than 29,000 on-site hours providing technical and field services to BAJV. Our surveying and monitoring scopes included control establishment and monitoring to ensure construction accuracy, as well as settlement gauge layout and ongoing monitoring to validate structural performance. Inline’s survey team also provided layout and as-built support across the full facility, contributing to the precise delivery of complex site components. Our materials testing and quality control work was supported by an on-site Mobile Laboratory that enabled real-time results for construction teams. Testing included soil and aggregate analysis for compaction and grading, concrete coring and compressive strength testing, and asphalt coring with Marshall testing to verify long-term durability and performance.
