Project Details
The Rainy River Mine, located approximately 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario, is a large-scale gold and silver mining operation that began production in 2017. Featuring both open-pit and underground components, the site has undergone significant infrastructure development to sustain long-term production. A key initiative included the construction of a tailings dam, which enhanced operational efficiency while meeting stringent environmental stewardship requirements.
Inline partnered with Ledcor CMI to deliver a full suite of survey and geotechnical services during the tailings dam construction phase, ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency under demanding conditions. Our survey work included layout and control for the dam, spillway, and supporting infrastructure—such as hydraulic structures, haul roads, borrow areas, and disposal sites. Inline also deployed a CCIL Aggregate Certified mobile laboratory to provide rapid, on-site soil and aggregate testing, performing proof roll inspections, compaction verification, and detailed results analysis to maintain quality and regulatory compliance. At peak activity, a dedicated team of seven employees provided 24/7 coverage to support continuous construction efforts. Our AutoCAD specialists offered design services and data integration, producing comprehensive report packages and turnovers for project documentation and client handover.
